“…She has you out here looking crazy.”

“Ms. Branam told law enforcement that she didn’t answer the door because Mr. — told her not to tell anybody what happened to her.

Ms. Branam was covered in bruises, the most notable being on the left side of her arm. Her entire upper arm was black and blue.“

“Ms. Branam stated that Mr. — has been assaulting her on a regular basis for close to three years, including sexual assaults.”

“The most recent physical and sexual assault was on Sunday, October 8, 2017, in the morning.

The last time — assaulted Ms. Branam he told her he had to leave the apartment because he knew he was at a place where he couldn’t control himself and he was going to kill her or the kids.”

“On October 12, 2017, Investigator Andrew Farcosky was able to speak to Donna Fullilove from Austin Police Department Victim Services.

Fullilove stated that she is concerned due to the ongoing family violence and sexual assaults occurring in the home, and that Ms. Kate Branam has called law enforcement in the past, but her protection of her children was minimized.”

Mrs. Fullilove stated that — had beaten Ms. Branam over the weekend and told Ms. Branam that he had to leave because something inside of him was out of control and he thought he may kill her or the children, but that he has been contacting her and telling her that he wants to see [his son].”

“Mrs. Fullilove stated that — has told Ms. Branam for this incident and others that she is just imagining these things, and that he never said anything about killing her or the children. Mrs. Fullilove stated that — had left the home three days ago, and that he is currently staying with friends according to Ms. Branam.”

“Mrs. Fullilove stated that she personally witnessed the bruising on Ms. Branam, and that this was some of the worst bruising she has seen in the past 15 years. Mrs. Fullilove stated that Ms. Branam indicated that —chokes her on a regular basis, and that if he were to kill her, this is likely how he would do it.”

“Mrs. Fullilove stated that Ms. Branam told her that they went to a wedding not too long ago and that she had bruises on her arms that were very visible, but that —‘s very good at playing people and he convinced those that saw the bruises that this was something that the children did.”

“Mrs. Fullilove stated that there is no way that the children could possibly have done this.”

“Mrs. Fullilove stated that law enforcement did breach the door due to concerns they had at the beginning of the incident, but that they contacted maintenance and they installed a new door with the new locks that — does not have keys to.”

“Mrs. Fullilove stated that — convinced Ms. Branam to quit her job back in June so she does not have resources to care for herself and her children without him, and that they will need access to these resources as soon as possible.”
